MacConkey Broth — Sterile Bottled Liquid Media
MacConkey Broth, item number MTW100104, is a ready-to-use sterile liquid medium supplied in 100mL bottles. Its selective and differential formulation, containing bile salts, lactose and the pH indicator neutral red, supports the growth of Gram-negative enteric bacteria while inhibiting Gram-positive organisms. Lactose fermenters produce acid and turn the broth red, making the medium suitable for the detection and enumeration of coliforms and enteric bacteria.
